For a gas vent or type l vent this height must be 2 ft 0 61m or more. Place the stack at least 10 ft high on most roofs to avoid recirculation. National fire protection association nfpa standard 45 specifies a minimum stack height of 10 ft to protect rooftop work ers. I ve seen anywhere between 6 18 depending on location for minimum stack height above a roof.
