You can add a corner relief to a single sheet metal body. Creating an edge flange along a non planar edge adds a 3d sketch. Click corner relief sheet metal toolbar. Use the corner relief propertymanager to apply corner treatments to a folded sheet metal body that persist in the flattened state.

Edge flange see figure 3 can be used to add an attached wall to any sheet metal body. The base flange feature is created from a sketch. You cannot select additional edges that are not tangent to the original edges. This same tool can be used to make a flat piece of sheet metal that one would use to add edge flanges and other useful sheet metal features.

Default direction of the edge flange is normal to the base flange at the edge. Specify no relief or add relief using custom relief type in the propertymanager. Click corner relief sheet metal toolbar or insert sheet metal corner relief. When you add a base flange feature to a solidworks part the part is marked as a sheet metal part.
