Solidworks multibody part functionality lets you work with several bodies in one part to create complex sheet metal designs.
For a multibody part you can apply a material to the entire part which affects all bodies in the part or to one or more individual bodies.
The entire part is easily enough processed in a single multi sheet drawing file.

When solidworks implemented the multi body sheet metal feature 2012 we stuck to how we have been handling things in the past and we exported the bodies as separate parts.
Each body has its own sheet metal and material definition flat pattern and custom properties.
